Considering Commonly Encountered ‘Diabetes Scenarios’ to Inform Clinical Management This workshop is strongly based on Case Study Based Learning (CBL) principles and will help delegates assess and individualise clinical risk management in diabetes and consider both available therapies and guidelines that underpin treatment choice.
We will work through these cases at a pace that allows reasonable assessment and discussion of a range of possible interventions.

The session will start with a brief update on glucose lowering therapy licence changes and the implications of these to clinical practice.

Following attendance, delegates will receive via MediConf, a PDF of the case scenarios covered in the session and importantly a ‘considerations’ slide on each case, identifying key assessment and action principles.

By the end of the workshop, delegates should:

• Feel more confident with individualised diabetes patient assessment and targets for risk factor management.

• Appreciate the role of a variety of glucose lowering agents as individual therapies and used in combination.

• Be able to reference guidance (with a particular emphasis on ADA / EASD) that supports clinical decision-making.

• Feel more confident in applying treatment principles discussed to their own patients in clinical practice.
