The overall aim of the session:
To present a balanced, pragmatic approach as to the role of GPs and staff working in primary care and community settings in the recognition and urgent referral of patients with suspected sepsis, and in supporting the recovery journey of survivors highlighting the supportive role of The UK Sepsis Trust.

The session will cover:
• The scale and burden of sepsis
• Challenges and synergies between Sepsis and AMR
• The need for operational solutions in the identification and escalation of care for patients with suspected sepsis
• The role of clinical staff in all sectors in a whole systems approach
• The importance of public awareness

Dr Ron Daniels
Ron Daniels is an NHS Consultant in Intensive Care, based in Birmingham, U.K. He’s also Executive Director of the UK Sepsis Trust and sits on the Executive Board of the Global Sepsis Alliance. In 2016 he was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to patients.
Ron’s expertise lies in translational medicine and leadership. He leads the team driving dissemination of the Sepsis 6 treatment pathway and is part of the team responsible for much of the policy and media engagement around sepsis
